| Change | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| Android version (community port) | The game now runs on ARM64 Android phones — see the full Android guide. Same native execution, Vulkan instead of Metal. |
| HarmonyOS version (community port) | HarmonyOS NEXT gets the same engine; install via a re-signed unsigned shell. Details in the Android guide. |
| Five languages | English, Chinese, Spanish (esES / esMX), Russian and Korean — full UI and feature translation, under Options → Custom. |
| Xbox & PlayStation controllers | Xbox pads switch to the PC/Xbox layout with Xbox icons automatically; DualSense / DualShock 4 show the game's own PlayStation icons (✕ confirm, ○ back). |
| iPhone native resolution (v1.0.18) | The app now declares a launch screen, so iPhones run at native resolution instead of the old compatibility mode. |
| Touch redesign (v1.0.18) | New dark socket buttons with metal rims, an arc-shaped skill fan, and a reworked skill-set switch — details below. |
The v1.0.18 release rebuilt the on-screen controls visually and ergonomically. From its notes:
Our take (judgment, not the project's): these are quality-of-life changes to muscle memory — if you learned the controls before v1.0.18, expect a day of re-training your thumbs, then a better experience on bright maps and larger screens.
The whole game switches between English, Chinese, Spanish, Russian and Korean under Options → Custom; the first launch follows your device language. Notes from the documentation: Spanish has regional variants (esES for Spain, esMX for Latin America); Russian and Korean are single-region (ruRU / koKR); item notes are translated for Chinese and Spanish only; voice acting follows your game files for Chinese, Russian and Korean, English otherwise.
Download the new shell from the Releases page (iOS 26+ or the iOS 18–25 variant), repackage with d2rm_pack.py and the source of the same release, then reinstall. The resource archives already on your phone are version-independent — you do not copy them again. The install guide has the full steps.
Run the usual update: pull the new source, ./setup.sh, and rebuild. Saves stay on the Mac.
Install the new APK over the old one, make a fresh import pack from the same release, and copy it in. See the Android guide for the four steps.
This project ships fast: v1.0.9 through v1.0.17 landed within a single day in its first week, v1.0.18 followed two days later, and v2.0 arrived six days after that. Each release can change both facts and advice — which is exactly why every page here states the build it covers, and why this page exists. When a new release ships, we re-check the facts; pages carry the date they were last touched.
Yes — the project is MIT-licensed and free. You still need to own the game (Switch release with the Reign of the Warlock expansion, 1.0.34.0).
Yes. Saves live outside the app package; reinstalling the app does not touch them. On Android, the same applies — the import pack is reinstalled, your saves stay in place.
No. Your current install keeps working — but you lose the fixes and features, and newer shell/source pairs are what the project tests. We recommend updating when convenient, not in the middle of a farming session.
