Diablo II is a collecting game dressed as an action game — and its original storage was designed around a mouse and a large screen. The port's documentation calls the result "a collector's paradise," and the four systems below are why: every part of managing loot on a phone was rebuilt rather than transplanted.
The centerpiece. Every identified Unique and Set item has its own fixed slot in the Chronicle — not a shared pool of boxes, but a catalog with a home address for every item in the game:
The classic Stash grew to 14 columns with five personal pages and five shared pages. The five shared pages keep the classic "transfer stash" role: hand items between characters without mule gymnastics. Long-press an empty inventory slot to sort everything — the port's inventory gestures extend to the stash as well (see the controls guide).
The separate gem, rune and material pages were merged into one page with the Horadric Cube's crafting grid in the middle — so finding components and crafting no longer means flipping between pages. And it files for you: runes, gems and materials you drop into your personal or shared pages are routed into the Trove automatically.
An extended inventory slot area for the field: runes and gems you find go into the Pouch automatically and take up no inventory space. Combined with selective auto-pickup (low runes and gems route straight in; high runes stay on the ground for you to grab deliberately — see the QoL guide), the Pouch means a farm run ends with your inventory exactly as empty as it started.
No — they coexist. The Chronicle catalogs identified Unique and Set items; the widened Stash (14 columns, five personal + five shared pages) and the Trove handle everything else.
Yes — the project describes the Chronicle as shared by all characters, like the shared stash pages in the original. Raw materials route through the shared/personal page system into the Trove.
Yes — the Chronicle is searchable, which is the practical difference between a collection and a junk drawer.
