Greater Rift Deep Dive: How to Push All 100 Levels in D2R Mobile

Quick Answer

What this page is
The strategy layer. The Rift's rules live on the main Rift guide — this page is about how to actually climb: pacing, build profile, milestone planning, failure diagnosis.
The honest caveat
The Rift is new enough that nobody has published bulk clear data. Everything below is reasoning from the mode's documented rules — marked as our judgment, not tested fact.
The one-line strategy
Treat every two levels as the real unit (+1 Skill Point, +5 Stat Points), and treat level 10 as a hard milestone (mercenary slots) before any deep push.

The Push Framework: Three Resources

First, a recap of the rules this page builds on (full detail on the Greater Rift guide): 100 levels, each harder than the last; clear the progress bar and kill the Rift Guardian within 15 minutes; every 2 levels grant +1 Skill Point and +5 Stat Points; the skill cap is raised from 20 to 40; every 10 levels pays a first-clear reward, and level 10 unlocks six mercenary equipment slots.

Within that frame, a push run trades three resources against one another:

Clock (15:00)

Fixed budget per level. Everything you spend — detours, deaths, greed — comes out of it.

Survival margin

Monster power scales every level. Your margin shrinks even if your build never changes.

Progress rate

The bar is filled by kills and objectives. Two levers: kill speed, and kill relevance.

Editorial judgment — from here down, the strategies are our reasoning from those documented rules. The mode is too new for community clear data; we say so plainly instead of inventing numbers.

The Level Bands: What Changes, and When

Monster scaling is continuous, but the practical experience comes in bands. Our read of what each band asks of you:

BandWhat it teachesWhat usually stops people
1 – 20 · LearningThe Rift's rhythm: bar mechanics, Guardian timing, what a 15-minute level actually feels like. Early levels leave generous margin.Overplaying: bringing a fragile farming setup and meeting real monsters for the first time.
21 – 50 · GrowthSkill-point snowball: by now the +1/+5 every two levels has visibly reshaped your character. Hybrid payoffs appear.Build drift: leveling skills that worked at 20 stop scaling at 40-plus monster power.
51 – 80 · Gear checkRaw stats matter less than damage conversion: resist caps, sustain, and one reliable single-target answer for Guardians. The Guardian wall: clearing the bar fine, then timing out on the boss with a screen-clearing build that has no single-target damage.
81 – 100 · The pushEvery level now demands the full package: pace discipline, no wasted deaths, a Guardian plan.Small leaks compounding: 30 seconds of wandering per level is a clear-or-fail difference by this band.

The Push Build Profile

A Rift push build is not the same animal as a farming build (for that, see the Elysium farming guide). It needs all four of these, in this order of priority:

  1. Progress-bar efficiency. The bar rewards killing relevant monsters, not all monsters. Builds with big-area coverage fill bars faster; builds that must hunt single targets lose minutes per level to geometry alone.
  2. A real Guardian plan. The Guardian is a hard single-target check under time pressure. Whatever your screen-clear profile, keep one committed single-target tool — the build's "boss mode".
  3. Survival that does not cost pace. Deaths burn the clock twice: the death itself, then the recovery. By the upper bands, a squishy build's theoretical DPS never gets to express itself.
  4. Mobility. Movement between density pockets is dead time; movement skills turn it into progress. On a phone, tap-to-path and auto-pathing shave this further — a quiet mobile advantage.

And the level-40 skill cap deserves its own line: by the 70s and 80s, the +1/+5 stream has made hybrid and utility skill layouts competitive with pure specialist trees. If you built a one-note character for early bands, expect to rebuild the tree (not the gear) for the push.

Pace Discipline: Beating the 15-Minute Clock

Milestone Planning: The Receipt Is Every Two Levels

The reward structure has a rhythm worth exploiting. Because +1 Skill Point and +5 Stat Points arrive every two levels, the first clear of each pair is worth more than its monster scaling suggests — plan stamina around clears, not around walls:

  1. Bank level 10 first. Six mercenary slots from one milestone changes your baseline power more than any gear you could farm in the same hours. Gear the merc properly before continuing (feeds directly into Boss Rush stage 12 prep).
  2. Pause at multiples of ten. First-clear rewards land there. Use the pause to bank skill layout changes while the power spike is fresh.
  3. Push in pairs. Since the reward is per two levels, a session that clears 19→21 is worth the same as 19→20 plus a failed 21 push. When the clock fails you, take the odd level and bank it.

Deep Dive FAQ

Should I push on my first character or make a dedicated one?

Design intent reads as flexible: the Rift's rewards deposit into whichever character runs it. Our recommendation is a dedicated pusher fed by an Elysium farmer — same account, different characters, clean roles.

Is there a level where most players stall?

No published data yet — the mode is too new. Our structural read is that the Guardian check around the 50s separates screen-clear specialists from complete builds; report your walls and this page will cite real data instead of reasoning.

Can you jump straight to a high level?

The level select panel lets you choose your level, and the project documents skipping ahead as allowed. The reward math rewards clearing, so ladder-jumping is a legitimate strategy once you outgun a band. The cap remains 100 levels.

All strategy content is our editorial reasoning from those rules and is marked as such — no invented clear data.
